Feb + Aug – Free WoW Spirit of Eche’ro Moose Mount!!

echero mount thumb 1

This archaeology mount is only available twice a year (in February and August), via a quest “Laying to Rest” offered in Legion Dalaran, and the quest is only open for 2 week each time.

Check at the archy trainer in Legion Dalaran or check Wowhead news in mid Feb/Aug to see when the quest is up that month and be sure to turn the quest back in before it expires to get the mount.

It is a spirit moose, and now a flying mount. Looks just like the spirit moose rare hunter pet so a great combo! And it fits well in Shadowlands. If you missed out on other moose mounts then move on this one! If you are into RP it is Huln’s mount Eche’ro who helps you in the Huln Highmountain scenarios in Highmountain in the Legion questline.

Once you pick up the quest from the archy trainer in Legion Dalaran, you need to get 600 bone fragments from archaeology digs in Highmountain and then turn the quest back in to her before it expires and the mount is yours.  The bones drop along with regular archy shards on each dig, plus every 10 digs or so you fight a ghostly HM tauren Angry Spirit for 13-15 more bones.

Having done it on two tanks, it takes about 2-3 hours or so of digging. Once accepting the quest, dig sites in HM will spawn continuously for the alt with the quest (usually in mob piles of basilisks, drogbar, jormungar serpents, Ettins and harpies but at Legion 110 (now 45 in SL) or above is easy). Feel free to ignore a site you dislike as it will spawn more as long as you complete at least one site that is up.

Quick Tip: WoW BFA Live: Train Your Gathering ASAP!!

Unlike some previous expansions, you can’t just go off and quest and pick herbs or mine in BFA.

Like old Vanilla WoW, you need to train BFA professions before you can use them. All professions. Including herbalism, mining, skinning.

If you don’t pay your 50g per profession and train, you will not see the nodes / plants in game. I trained each alt on all their professions in Boralus / Dazar’alor as all trainers are close together. I can change out professions later if I want.

A side effect it seems of splitting profession leveling by expansion rather than having one set of 950 levels across all xpacs. This is different from Legion / WoD / MoP where if you had the profession previously, you could go out and gather and get petals / shards / dust and a quest to go get trained.

Another side effect is a nasty bug on last week’s 8.0.1 pre-patch DarkMoon Faire (DMF) where max level characters near the top of a Legion profession’s levels couldn’t use the profession quest in DMF to get remaining levels. No levels were awarded on completion of the quests. Happened to me on alts that were 106/115 (racial profession), 97/100, 99/100. on several professions Hopefully that gets fixed as some Legion professions had problems reaching 100 without DMF quests for final points. Baby characters (allied races) leveling had no problems getting the +5 levels boost on DMF quests.

Free Legendary for Each 110 Character!!

Hey, I am posting this quickly as this is real, I just got it for all my 110 level characters, and I do not know if it is TIME LIMITED to July 24 2018?!

There are 1000 Wakening Essences and a Mythic 2 Keystone waiting for your 110 toon in their class hall weekly Mythic chest!

Video at WowSoloist Youtube

Since that chest disappears on looting and reappears at reset every Tuesday, I have no idea if it will still be there after reset this Tuesday July 24 2018, so go get it now!!

[Just saw Reddit post of Blizz blue post saying if you miss it they will mail keystone, and credit essences to currency when you next log in, but that’s not authoritative so go get them now!]

The Mythic keystone does expire at reset Tuesday July 24 so use it quickly if you care. The 1000 essences go into currency so you can just go use them at your convenience at the vendor in the new Dalaran Blacksmithing shop to buy any specific non-crafted legendary of your choice for your class, or a random Bind on Account legendary token for any class that you can send to an alt.

Apparently it is a gift from Blizzard to compensate for a bug on 8.0.1 release live, that killed loot from Mythic from previous week. Only a level 110 with class hall opened can get it, as otherwise the chest doesn’t show up for lower level characters.

If like me you are not a Mythic player then chances are this great big chest has sat unopened and unlootable in the class hall for your alts since they hit level 110. If you don’t know where it is, wander around looking for the biggest treasure chest ever or check a guide on WowHead or Icy Veins or another fan site. Eg. for Mage it’s against the wall turn right as you enter from teleport landing. For Hunter it’s by the stairs that go up from the Missions board. For Shaman it is left of the Missions Board, Paladin it is at the corner of the room/hallway near the Quartermaster. DK (picture at top of this post) it is visible on opposite side of Mission table from where you enter down stairs after teleport. Rogue is in Council of Shadows chamber on right beside first big candelabra. Druid is just right of Keeper Romulus (big quest giver) just across river from Missions Board.

I have not read this anywhere other than on a couple of YouTube feeds, hats off to  ITSSKITZ who dropped it inside one of his pre-BFA gold prep videos I was watching.  Since then a couple of others have posted it on YouTube and it is on Reddit.

I will post a video later of my alts running around grabbing theirs, got one boosted 110 left to do.

Enjoy those legendaries, they keep their special traits through level 115, and if you choose well (is non-neck – sorry Prydaz – because of Heart of Azeroth new BFA neck mandatory legendary, uses non-heirloomable slot, is legendary with great stats and sockets) they may well last you non-Dungeon non-raiders beyond level 115 leveling.

I’m Back!!!! June 2018

Sooooo many new videos on Wow pre-BFA and GW2 PoF to edit and post!

In the meantime, here’s what I am working on right now:

Wow pre-pre-patch 8.0 BFA wth maybe only 2 weeks to go (!!):

Mage Tower Artifact Appearances: Druid Guardian and Feral, Hunter BM, Disc Priest (alts from base Argus to ready to try)

Allied Races: leveling Nightborn Priest and Highmountain Tauren Druid (yes, adding Horde too for BFA experience)

Allied Races: my main is almost finished grinding out rep to start Alliance Void Elves and Light-forged Draenei.

Also in the works: Patreon site with detailed how-tos, pre-release lightly edited play vids, and design elements discussions.

BFA pre-patch 8.0 is almost here – time to play and record!!

Leveling Alts in WoW Using Pets and Mistfall Village in Pandaria

This may be old news to many, but it may still be useful to some.   It uses the XP from a steady stream of max-level-pet battles and a safe area from other mobs, to quickly level alts from at least as low as level 45 to level 90. Yes it’s very repetitious but can easily be done while watching tv, and at higher levels (80’s) it takes only about 10 battles per alt level. Pretty painless really.

To use this method of leveling, you need at least 2 level 25 battle pets that are good against aquatic pets (Eternal Striders and Dancing Striders are good), ideally rare quality.  Continue reading Leveling Alts in WoW Using Pets and Mistfall Village in Pandaria

WoW New Expansion – Legion Combines Fel Elements of WoD, BC and WotLK – Don’t Stand in the Fel

Wow.  Just finished watching the Legion announcement from Gamescom in Germany, and that’s my first reaction.  Just like the overly quiet wide-eyed audience. No “!”.  Just gobsmacked. Wow.

Blizz, I’m so sorry.  Sorry for the quiet wide-eyed audience reaction, murmuring unsmilingly amongst themselves (one girl was crying, maybe joy, but if not, I know what she felt), sorry for my shocked state, sorry you felt you needed to go fel again, but more sorry for the game. BC again?!! Warcraft 3 Legion Xpac again? Really?!! Continue reading WoW New Expansion – Legion Combines Fel Elements of WoD, BC and WotLK – Don’t Stand in the Fel
